Luxman D03X vs D10X

Folks,

I have been seriously contemplating moving from Luxman D03X to Luxman D10X.. But before I do such a thing, I'd like to do thorough research and any help or advice from someone who have owned these or not, would be great. Here are some spec details. The D03X uses Texas Instruments PCM1795 DA chips with SNR of 123db and a sample max rate of 200Khz resolution of 32bits. The D10X employs ROHMs BD34301EKV DA chips with SNR of 130db and a sample maxx rate of 768Khz and resolution of 32bits. How much of audible difference would these make? also the D10X support SACD decoding.. thanks in advance..

Not only do I use the Invert Phase button on every disc, I use it at the beginning of every song. Even on the  same album some songs require it, some don't. I can tell usually within a few seconds if it's needed or not.

I can't imagine life without it now that I've heard the difference it makes.

Hi Folks,  Late to the thread, but I had the same question. I have a D-03X/L-550AX II and thinking about the D-10X. The USB section is the main reason for wanting to upgrade. I have a Gungnir that I might dust off to see if the USB section is better than the D-03X.  Looking at a Sinxjer DDC too, but not sure how USB to DDC will connect to the D-03X as there is not a USB out of the DDC. Maybe that's a dumb question, just trying to clean up the bits from the PC.  Thoughts?  Very interesting tip on the phase inverter, can't wait to try it.

A few months ago I brought home a McIntosh MCD600 and compared it to my Luxman D-03X.

The Mac added a bit of lower midrange warmth which sounded very pleasant heard through my B&W 803 D3s.

The 600 also has a volume control. So I removed my preamp and connected the 600 directly to my PS Audio M1200 monoblocks.

Clarity became even better.

The 600 is my only source. Very happy with the sound. So happy I bought a second 600 as a backup in case it needs repair and I wouldn't be able to listen to the system for awhile.
