The mystery is, why?

If they work, then its really a mystery.

If they don't, then its either a driver or a crossover. And either way it doesn't matter who made the speakers, you'll just replace the bad driver, caps, terminals, etc. All of which can be done without knowing anything about the manufacturer or model of the speaker.

So.. why?
I'm not sure you'll find much of a market for 30 year old brand-less, bookshelf speakers.  I suppose it could be helpful to find out who the manufacturer was to list on a Goodwill donation receipt.  I think the tax deduction may be the best bet.  Otherwise I'd gift them to a friend or relative which is good karma.
Those are Essence Gems. Nice set of speakers that should fetch $400-$500 to a buyer that knows about Dale Pitcher and his products.
I should qualify that price as based on condition. A 8 of 10 Audiogon scale set would be in the range mentioned in my above post. Make sure you understand what 8 of 10 means when rating. Here is a link to what was their flag ship at the time the Gems were produced.  https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis9gfi3-essence-amethyst-10a-full-range .Not many people know about Essence Electro acoustics products. You almost never see one of their amps for sale, and in 20 years I have never seen one of their preamps for sale. People that buy those products get off of the buying merry-go-round, permanently.
