New Technics SL1200G turntable

Can anyone offer any information about the TT? It is fairly pricey, but the engineering of it seems to be first rate.

I tried my Herbies mat, which really helped a prior table with all acrylic platter, but it sounded worse than the stock mat on the 1200G.
