... when it comes to classical, I have usually been a greatest hits listener, Beethoven, Mozart, Wagner. Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 (the "New World Symphony"), Jascha Horenstein conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Chesky CD31. Out of print but may be findable as a CD at Amazon or eBay. I don't know if it is available on streaming services. Outstanding performance of this eminently likeable work; **amazing** sonics in this Chesky remastering. No worries @isochronism , I was being sincere for the record. Maybe "review" wasn't the best idea, my intent was to listen and share thoughts, with the potential of leaving my comfort zone taste-wise, which is precisely what the Bruckner suggestion did. So, mission accomplished then? Certainly won't argue this is a top 5 thread, though, ha ha ha. |
