I bought Ohm Walsh 4 used back in the late 80s'. Ohm makes replacement cans but before I upgraded I visited the local high end store. The only system I liked cost as much as a new BMW. So I upgraded the Ohms to Mk 200. I like the transparent sound. Before the Ohms I had Mags Typani. I liked the transparent sound but the Ohms added the missing base. Recently I shifted to passive preamp and am blown away by the detail and purity of the sound. I use to live near Soundex Willowgrove Pa. and took many amps and decks home to trial. Saves a lot of bad purchases. Perhaps we should make a library of electronic equipment then rent a trial before buying.
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
After 9 years with my Proac Response 3s, I recently decided to change speakers. As you can tell, I'm not an upgrade fever patient. I want something I can live with for years & I think the best advice I'm gonna get will be from those who have & are still living with their speakers for an extended period of time. Please tell me why too. Thanks.Bob.
