I sold many Gold speakers already. The speaker even sound good out of the box. But after about 400 hours ( my clints always play as much as possible even during the night) the low freq. will become tighter and faster.
I can promiss you that even with my Pl-500 and 2 times 700 watt out of my Pass you still need a subwoofer.
Because stealth low frequency makes the stage wider and deeper. And 16hz is a lot deeper than how deep the Pl-500 gan go. The biggest difference is that is goes a lot deeper even at very low volume. The Pl-500 only can play at 22hz when you play at extreme volumes.
With stealth low frequency instruments become more palpable as well. You hear more decay. The soudn becomes more musical. I use my Platinum sub from 16-140hz. When you use lasers and a S.A.P.-measurement you create a superior timing. This makes it able to use the sub till a much higher frequency range like 140hz.
When I switch off my sub, you go to a much lower level of quality. This is why almost all my stereo clients play with a subwoofer. Because when you auditioned stealth low freqency, this is what you want.
