I have some information I would like to report to the group. I asked earlier about using a rubber conditioner on the rubber surrounds and this is what Rob told me:

1) I do recommend a rubber conditioner for the surrounds to your speakers, except the coax, and they are silk. For rubber surrounds I use Protectant 303.

2) I use a solder which has a high silver content. (Alpha NRG+. SAC305).

Does anyone have a good amp recommendation for the Thiel CS3.5? Since it has a bass equalizer, I would like something with a tape loop function. I can purchase the Peachtreeaudio NOVA500 for $1600 and wanted to know if anyone has experience with this amp. Please let me know!

@biannuzzi22  I’d suggest a  recapped Threshold S 500 Series Ii. It’s a power amp, so no tape loop.

In your experience, would it be worth it to spend extra money for more watts with the Thiel 2.4, even if mostly listening at lower volumes? I’m currently looking at a used Bryston 4b st (500 watts into 4 ohm) vs the 3b model (300 watts into 4 ohm).

I have heard both of those Bryston amps. Which Pre-Amp do you plan to use?
