Yep. I though you were wondering if yours was remastered. Elektra only reissued these singly and in sets, not remastered from the info I see. The later remastered releases were not Elektra.

Just out of curiosity, is your Island pressing a pink rim?

I don’t have it yet, but per the photos it is an all black label with a multi-colored ‘i’. Yes, I assume it is a US pressing.

Barefoot Jerry - Watching TV. Monument 1974

Bought his album years ago just to check it out. Oddly interesting group, but the recording and engineering on thIs LP is really quite well done, better than most.
The Grateful Dead ‎– Anthem Of The Sun. WB reissue, 1973ish. Originally 1968

One thing I do not quite understand is as that phono pre has two inputs, they did not allow settings for each, at least from what I can understand? Are those two MM and MC options R&L, or for inputs 1&2. Which would allow for two different carts/tables to be used.

Richards Piano Quartet : Martinů - Piano Quartet No. 1 & Chausson - Piano Quartet In A Major Op. 30. L'Oiseau-Lyre 1970

Roberto Benzi conducts Saint-Saëns - Symphony #3. The Hague Philharmonic. VOX. Stumped by the release date on this. Seems almost all versions are a mystery.
Paul Simon - Graceland. WB 1986

Pulled this out about 3-4 weeks ago, had not listened to it for years. Figured I would give it a spin on the SOTA, and sounds fantastic in terms of SQ. After Blond on Blond, which can be cringe worthy at times, I needed a well recorded and engineered selection.

Dylan - Blonde on Blonde. Columbia 2LP gatefold 1972 repress, originally 1968 (of this mix)

@noromance

Agreed. 12BH7A (CV5042) can be great. Curious if the Trumpet could facilitate it.

Doesn't this rely on the power supply? As I am running the SBooster LPS, it is capable of 2.5A @15v, the stock Hagerman w/wall wart was designed for 2.05A @15v. So, as designed, the SBooster (in theory) has more current available than the Trumpet was designed for, which is good. But, may not be enough for 12HBH7A's if they call for 3A.

I might have this all wrong, just learning here. From what I am reading, it is the power supply that could be damaged by not being able to provide enough current, (in my case), not the Trumpet itself.

Szell conducts Bartok - Concerto for Orchestra & Janacek - Sinfonietta. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 1966

@mammothguy54

Thanks, it was fantastic. Never ceases to amaze how much different an album is on vinyl that you’ve have, and are used to, on CD. It’s like listening to it new again.

That album is a sonic treat, indeed.

Just got a bunch of LP’s off Discogs yesterday, many very good ones...

But this one is really well done, and am listening to it now:

Zubin Mehta conducting the LA Philharmonic, Tchaikovsky Symphony No 4 in F minor, on London, 1967.
Fantastic and in excellent condition.
Steve, I just may be interested indeed. Perhaps also that second mymat if you still have the material.
Alois Springer conducts Roussel - Piano Concerto, Op. 36 & Ravel - Piano Concerto In G Major. Hamburger Symphoniker With Maria Littauer, piano. Turnabout 1971
Maurice de Abravanel Conducts Varese - Nocturnal/Ecuatorial and Lazarof - Structures Sonores. Utah Symphony Orchestra. Vanguard/Cardinal, Released 1968

Hey guys, I’m back. Unfortunately had to unexpectedly leave town to care for my mom who wound up in the hospital late last Saturday. But, brought her home yesterday, and came back home today…..so that’s step one. She isn’t getting any younger, but that was a real scare. Glad she is OK, especially at Christmas time, her favorite time of the year.

Got a couple LP’s in the mail while away, so really looking forward to spinning some vinyl this evening.

Hope everyone is well!

In honor of Beethoven’s 250th birthday....

Karl Bohm / Weiner Philharmonic - Beethoven, 9 Symphonies box set. Deutsche Grammophon UK release 1972. Symphonies 1-3

George Szell / The Cleveland Orchestra - Beethoven, The Nine Symphonies box set. Columbia Masterworks 1974. Symphonies 3-6

Was going to finish with my Karajan set with 7-9, but not tonight.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. I feel like I’ve been gone for a year. Perhaps one nice thing; having a break like that from my system may allow me to appreciate it even more.

@spiritofradio You get the Voice installed yet? (Have not scrolled back though all the posts yet).

Good idea James. Looking forward to your thoughts when ready to insert it into the system.

Solti-Edition box set, Vol.6 - Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem. Sides 11-13. Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Choir. Originally released 1979. DECCA

Glorious

Thanks Bill. Always nice to see vinyl ‘gifts’ awaiting me at any time 👍🏼
