Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF?

Im guessing they use mdf these days because its cheaper.

Great drivers and crossovers in a plywood veneered whatever box. Didn’t care, they were unbelievably musical and dynamic and did justice to all kinds of music. Sometimes execution means more than pseudo intellectual techno babble from wanna be designers.
