IMO tone controls and Balance control are good reasons to stay with McIntosh, especially in your situation (similar to my own).

I have a McIntosh MA6500 purchased used about 1.5 years ago driving Sonus Faber Olympica llls. It has a balance function. I’m thinking of buying a Pass Labs Int-60.
Questions. Will I notice a difference in the sound quality (if I’m paying attention) and how do I compensate for the lack of a function button as I can’t practically place my favorite chair dead center?
