Well this link will start many arguments!

Is bi amping worth it ?
@hardhattg @russbutton  I mistakenly described my set up as vertical bi-amp. I was wrong, and am using horizontal bi-amping. We were having discussions about the various methods of wiring speakers and it got me to thinking that I might not know...
Is bi amping worth it ?
@russbutton John Curl designed a number of amps and preamps for Parasound. Cost dictated the parts that would be used to keep most of them at competitive prices. I know he designed the PLD preamps and they are silver wired, dual mono design but do...
Is bi amping worth it ?
@russbutton Nice explanation, thank you. So, why is a Krell amp better suited to run a 3 or 4 way system with passive crossover? I believe that my Parasound amps do a very fine job of powering the AR9's. They are 4 way with 2x12 wooferrs each on t...
Is bi amping worth it ?
@russbutton Interesting. So how much is an active crossover like an equalizer or are they completely different? Also, what can the high end amps do to help vs the mid fi stuff? I use Parasound amps, John Curl design. I consider them mid fi but I ...
Does Anyone Else Have a Very Slow Connection to Audiogon?
Mine is loaded with pop ups and jumps around as @unreceivedogma says. I'm using a PC, windows 10 and everything is through google. Maybe it has something to do with windows 10 becoming obsolete? Thanks MS. Nuther fine mess.
Your favorite obscure song
@dweller Good call on Pretty Ballerina. Great old song. I think I was probably in 8th grade. Loved it. I can't narrow it down to one favorite but Fisher "Never Say Never" from the True North album is really good. I also like how they covered "Cat...

@srinisr Thread hijacking is normal on all sites like this. It just happens. At least it's about music. I did check C Demby out, very nice. Will pick up a couple of Cd's. I see that she passed away 4 years ago and was 81 years old. A shame I never...

What in the hell is wrong with this site today? Good grief it's slow. Can this not be fixed  somehow?
Best selling albums of all time
@srinisr Thanks for the suggestion. I have not heard Constance Demby but I will check her out. I have found a few "new to me" artists via these conversations. It's fun to stumble onto this stuff that you've never heard and find that you enjoy it. ...
Best selling albums of all time
@mahgister My pleasure. I have not grown tired of him in nearly 50 years since the first time I heard a Fresh Aire V piece on a Linn LP12, both firsts. I still enjoy both today.  My very best to you as well.
Best selling albums of all time
@srinisr  It has a couple of pieces that are decent with maybe the first one being my favorite, can't remember the title. It is my least favorite of the Fresh Aire series, just seems odd to me. A friend of mine thinks it's great.  I do not have ...
Best selling albums of all time
@bzawa  I would urge anyone to seek out Mannheim Steamroller recordings. It is considered to be new age, I would call it more neo classical with a jazz influence. Chip Davis is the star of the show, a recording engineer of great talent who is als...
Is bi amping worth it ?
@hardhattg  I'm glad you got to hear AR9's way back when. I also heard Klipschorns many years ago and they did sound very good. It is a different kind of quality. I just read about and heard a discussion about their origin and Mr Klipsch. They be...
Is bi amping worth it ?
@hardhattg  I was the one who asked if you'd ever heard better or more bass from another set of khorns. Maybe they just don't have it, I don't know. Cd's reach 20hz, LP's down to 16hz that I'm aware of. No idea about streaming but it would seem p...
