Pass Labs Integrated -150 I was extremely interested in this product but never had a chance to audition one because no dealer near me. Check out the amp board on audioasylum.com. A member bought one a month or so ago and there was a long thread as I recall. There was also ...
Your last speaker? Well it depends how long I'll live, but I have had my Thiel 2 2s for 13 years now. I've been through 3 preamps, 3 amps, 3 cd players and 2 turntables in that time, but I still got the same Thiels. I have never had the least thought of changing the...
Ayre amps - cool running? I have a V-1xe and it seems to run cool to me. I never feel any warmth unless I actually touch the amp itself and then it is only slightly warm at most. I have a large room and the V-1xe sits on the floor so there is plenty of ventilation. Also, I...

Choice on a $3,000 to $5,000 SS amp Like others have stated, I would also suggest you consider either an Ayre v-1xe or Ayre v-5xe.
Best Speakers to match Ayre V-1xe and K-1xe I use my V-1xe and K-1xe, together with a C-5xe, with Thiel 2 2. Sounds extremely good to me. I would suggest an audition of the Thiel 2.4 (which I have heard with the 1 series and are excellent) and 3.7 (which I have not heard). |
