DDC Recomendations
For anyone who’s interested Denafrips confirmed with me that the clock inputs on the Hermes can only be used with 49 and 45 MHz clock inputs, basically only the Terminator dac.
DDC Recomendations
ah okay. Great because this little baby would be exactly what I'm after.
DDC Recomendations
I have spotted one downside. The external clock output only works with i2s and USB. Not coax which is what I really need it for. I emailed Denafrips about using an external clock with the Hermes.

Thanks for the heads up on the Laiv Harmony uDDC. That looks like exactly what I'm looking for.

Are you sure? The clock inputs on the Hermes show 45.1548MHz  and 49.152Mhz and it says connects to the Terminator. I wanted to use it with a CD Transport. Sync the CD Transport, DDC and DAC. The CD Transport and DAC state 10MHz.
Audio Research LS25 MKII Problem
Okay, well I think I found out the problem! Our house is old and has shoddy electrics, I did my best to fix some of it when we moved in. The outlet the pre-amp was plugged into has an intermittent earth problem. I now have it plugged into a differ...
Audio Research LS25 MKII Problem
I'm in San Antonio TX. There is a guitar place in town that sells tubes, maybe he can test them. They are 6H30s though so I think I read they don't test on your average tester. I could just buy another set of tubes and keep as spare. There is a co...
Audio Research LS25 MKII Problem
It came with out tubes but that did cross my mind, but they sound perfectly fine. I got from thetubestore. Don’t they test all their tubes. I even paid for matched. Seems unlikely they send faulty tubes?
Audio Research LS25 MKII Problem
I just googled "audio research muting" and I see as you say other models affected, sp1 sp6 and sp10 so far. I'll keep reading and see if anyone finds a solution. It seems to of settled down now. Hopefully its just occasionally and not every day th...
Why is solid state more popular when tubes are better?
I've heard great tube amps, Ive heard bad tube amps. I've heard great solid state amps, I've heard bad solid state amps. And lots in between. I personally like both, but like many people I find a tube pre-amp with solid state power amp gives me a ...
Pre-amp with solid state/passive AND tube modes (Like Schiit Freya+)
Glad to hear some people enjoyed the LS25. I have used a passive pre-amp in the past. I liked it with older amps that were softer but found it flat and hard with newer amps, then again I didn't have a particularly  expensive one. As with all these...
Pre-amp with solid state/passive AND tube modes (Like Schiit Freya+)
Hi Glenn I hadn’t realized someone had answered my post. I actually managed to source a ARC LS25 Mk II for $1900 I know it’s double the price of the freya but going by blue book prices it sounded to good to turn down, and the guy is sending me rec...
Ohm Walsh 4.300.2 opinions
Ill be using them with either a Nad C298 or a recently serviced old Quad 405 amp. Both I'm sure will have enough power, but quite different amps.   Just hoping someone who has some knowledge of those walsh upgrades can advise me.
