Marantz 8300 "Universal "Player. Reviews/Comments? Thedautch,You are probably correct about the HiFi News review, the review that I was looking at was the HiFi Choice piece in their October 2002 issue. I am sure HiFi News hated it, but HiFi Choice (another British mag) considered it signficantly b...
Marantz 8300 "Universal "Player. Reviews/Comments? That's interesting Thedautch. I have the Hi-Fi News article, and they liked it very much. They actually put it on their cover. I have one, and I happen to like it very much also.
Great Progessive Scan and Great CD Playback? Porschecab, you seem to have some experience with using the Panny RP-91 for 2-channel listening. I would like some more critical feedback from you about how good this relatively inexpensive player is for this, especially if you have been able to d...
rave review on AR home theatre speaker system You can order them from soundpros.com for $525 shipped. I have dealt with them, and as they are here in San Diego, have had a chance to meet them, and they are genuinely good guys. I set these up for my secretary with an Onkyo 595 receiver, a Sams...
Great Progessive Scan and Great CD Playback? Avguygeorge, that simply is not true. The Toshiba 9200 and the Sony 9000 were reviewed extensively by Stereophile magazine for their 2-channel audio, and were shown to be excellent. In fact, the Toshiba compared extremely favorably with CD players...
B W CDM 9 NT or NAUTILUS 804's First of all, let me say that there is a significant difference between the sound of the CDM 9NT and the 804, even when something as mid fi as a B&K 202 is used. The NT does not have the airiness in the highs, and the bass is much less control...
Toshiba SD9200 or Sony ES DVD player If you are buying these for DVDA or SACD I would hold off for a universal player...
i want to buy a new system I would also consider an Energy Take 5.2 system, with subwoofer it is about $900 retail, and you can get that discounted. On low end receivers, I found the Yamaha receivers to sound better and tighter than the Onkyos, and the nice thing is that yo...
Musical Fidelity HT600? I saw the review in SGHT and in Home Theater, and the area in the review concerning the amp seemed very positive, but both articles seemed to concentrate more on the pre/pro and its quirks. I saw the amp for sale on audioadvisor for $995, which re...
Any mid-priced Receivers Worthwhile??? The analog bypass is for DVD Audio or SACD. You still have pre-outs to use a separate amp for your front speakers with the 202. Check AG, Audioreview, and Audioweb. I noticed two 202s for sale recently. The B&K has done a very good job of driv...
Any mid-priced Receivers Worthwhile??? The 305/307 are better than the 202 because they have more power amplifiers, are 7.1, and have 5.1 analog bypass. They are also more expensive, with a new one costing about $2800, and used ones still over $2000. I currently use a 202 that I bought...
Any mid-priced Receivers Worthwhile??? Mgs, I would look hard at the B&K AVR-202 over the Nakamichi AV-10. It is sonically a significantly better unit. Look for it used on AG or AR. |
