Anyone running Cary 306/200 CDP directly to Amps?
Khokugo--Just so that I understand since I'm thinking about sending my 306/200 to Cary for this upgrade: It seems when you turned the volume up all the way on your 306/200, you heard a buzzing? Is that correct? So you assume there was some impleme...
Anyone running Cary 306/200 CDP directly to Amps?
Thanks for the informative responses. One thing I'm concerned about is the high voltage balanced output of the 306/200. I think the output is something like 6 volts, although I'm not sure. Will this harm my amps?
How's the analog volume control on the Opus 21?
TIC-I emailed Resolution Audio a week ago. They indicated that once I order, it'll take 1 month for me to receive the machine. Fred
How's the analog volume control on the Opus 21?
Thank you guys for your informative responses. I think I'm sold. Tom, your test using your neighbor's preamp was especially helpful, and eases my hesitiation to buy a product that I am unable to demo. Yes, I'm aware Resolution Audio's use and retu...
Best CD Player for under $5,000
Warren, I agree with what I think you're trying to say: that you don't have to spend $5000 any longer to get a player comparable to the Cary 306/200. However, a slightly used 306/200 can be had on this site for a little under $3000, which is about...
Best CD Player for under $5,000
Wow! Did you open a can of worms! I'm currently using a Cary 306/200 and love it. There's lots of fantastic players at the 5 large price point. It really depends on what you want in your system, as each player will provide you with unique characte...
Role of HDCD in an upsampling world
This player may not be up your alley, but have you taken a look at the Cary 306/200. With this player, you have the option of playing your HDCD discs through the Pacific Microsonics PMD-200 HDCD digital filter, or you can bipass the filter and ups...
Detailed Look at Cary Audio 306/200 CD Player
KF-I did use the stock cord when auditioning the Ayre, but I've also been using the stock cord with the Cary. Still like the Cary, but I understand your points. The guy who sold me the Cary speaks volumes about the neccessity of a PC upgrade. He's...
Detailed Look at Cary Audio 306/200 CD Player
KF-I agree with everything you have written more or less. The bright blue light thing is a turn off and I am also not fond of the warranty. And, I know the Cary has worn out its welcome on Audiogon. Yet, I'm compelled to keep loving it! One new pl...
