CD players - Luxman vs. Esoteric? Biggy79 ... Your dealer is doing something wrong with the input .... If it's a 24/96 going in it'll show "96" on the display. I have a Lux D-05 and the two digital inputs work flawlessly.
Harbeth SHL5 I use the Shl5s with all kinds of music, Rock & Roll, soul, jazz, funk etc ... I'll never get rid of them. Ever. I willl say it took awhile to get them to sound incredible in my room, and with the right gear. I disagree with those who claim th...
SA11 S2 SACD player. I'm listening to more CDs Understood. I got a Luxman D-05 and all I listen are CDs, and to a lesser extent, SACDs now. Couldn't believe it.
Difference between Luxman L-550A II & L-507u I have the L-550IIa and Harbeth SHL5s ... wouldn't trade the combo for anything at this point. Did a lot of searching.
The CD Player Lie? You can't compare a cd player to a turntable until you know the sources are accurate. Mostly you're listening to differences in mastering.
Luxman L505u . . . why not? Noli ... Let me know what you think!
Luxman L505u . . . why not? I've heard both the 505u and the 550IIa on Harbeths. I went through lots of amps, seperates and integrateds ... I own Hl5s, and I liked the 550a best, for all music... It had to do with the detail and clarity and that illusion of speed with class ...
Harbeth SHL5 vs 40.1 I've the SHL5s and after I heard the 40.1s I wasn't all that tempted to move up; I was relieved, actually, because there's no way I could swing it money-wise. The 40s are to-die-for amazing, in every way, but SHl5s have that same mid magic, maybe ...
Luxman L505u . . . why not? Merlocpm ...I'm using Hl5s with the lux 550a II. This after a series of amps, including bi-amping. The Lux-Harbeth just sings. It's incredible.
Bryston BDA-1 I own both and I prefer BCD-1 over the BDA-1, even using the BCD as a transport only. It's close.
Best Cable Match for LFD LE III and Proac D Two Best cables ever: Crimson Music Link. Solid-core, British made, and hard to find. Should be right at your price point too. I've heard them on the LFD even, driving Harbeths. Bettered everything else, as they say. I use them in a Luxman/Harbeth com...
any early 80's alt/soft punk fans out there? Soft punk. Funny.Only Ones, certainly. I was a little kid and all that (junkie) swagger got to me. Generation X, Rich Kids (completely underrated), Buzzcocks, of course, and Real Kids. So many. Dictators, Elliot Murphy, the Skids ("Sweet Suburbia"...
MFSL vs DCC Wow, I've painstakingly compared two different Japanese masterings (including the mini's), the original EMIs (both UK and West German), the Hollywod, the two DVD-As, the MFSL and the DCC.The DCC's best -- it's warmer and more detailed than all oth...
Are there any Harbeth owners in Wisconsin or near I live in Detroit ... You're welcome to come over. The dealer here is very cool too. It's funny, I'm in Appleton often ...
Are Harbeth S HL5's As Good As Reviewers Claim? I have them, adore them. I love rock 'n' roll and soul too, for which the Harbeth's are great. I'm into the dynamics and detail of the recorded music, as close to sitting in a studio control room as possible ... for me. BUT, it took me a long time... |
