Upgrade CD, New CD or Universal Player? FYI, I appreciate the advice. Going with an Integra 40.2 for the pre-amp, and a Parasound A52 for amp. Got a deal on both.
Help with stepping up from AVR to Amp/Pre-Amp I decided to go with an Integra 40.2 as the pre-amp and the Parasound A52 for an amp.
Upgrade CD, New CD or Universal Player? Being a novice, if I dump the AVR I need a pre-amp and amp, right? I have a 5.1 speaker system. Guess I could spend another $1500-$2000 if I had to.
Upgrade CD, New CD or Universal Player? I had an Arcam AVR100 but it developed a buzz I could not resolve. What if I added a nice amp (was looking at the Parasound A52)- would that improve sound or would it just magnify the Marantz?
B&W 683's- Use another center or HTM 61? Thanks for the input. I noticed the B&W CMC2 has an extra mid range driver, but not sure if it is compatible with the 600 series fronts. I am going to call B&W and if it is I will go that route. Otherwise, looks like the HTM61. thanks- Toni
B&W 683's- Use another center or HTM 61? ...also, I could spend a little more if I had to, to get it right (if the HTM 61 is not the way to go). - Toni
Good AVR to Power B&W 683's ...also, if I have 2 fronts, center channel, sub and 2 rears, (5.1 set-up) would I not need a 5-channel preamp? Scott
Good AVR to Power B&W 683's Thanks for the input. Pardon my ignorance, but will this type of pre-amp work well for 3-way speakers, or is it better for 2-way? Thanks,Scott |
