+1 to what Geoff said, especially those appliances that are always on. I noticed a subtle improvement in my HT by putting a ferrite snap-on on my microwave power cord and on my kitchen fridge as well.
A recent holy sh*t moment- RF interference solved
Ok, so it took me long enough to figure out that my FM reception was noticeably worse when my kitchen lights were on. For a while I just couldn’t figure out why my reception varied from pretty good to spotty. The kitchen lights are all LEDs. Professor Google taught me I was likely getting RF interference through my antenna input caused by the LED lighting. The suggestion was a snap on ferrite choke or core. Found one, snapped it on to the antenna lead, holy sh*t, it worked! I figured, WTF, so I put another ferrite core on the tuner’s power cord too.
