I have no idea why, but I do not think anything is truly isolated, either in our equipment or our homes. I read in these forums years ago, a recommendation from Charles Hansen of Ayre, that we should unplug our entire video systems when doing critical music listening...I also have found this to help in my system
Any harm to leaving my SACD player on all the time to toslink input?
I have an Esoteric K-05 SACD / DAC. I run my XBox One S's optical out to the optical input on the Esoteric and just leave the player on all the time; so I don't need to turn it back on and select the optical input via the mode switch. I know...I'm lazy, but I have kids and I'm trying to make thing easy for them too.
Is it okay to leave this thing on all the time? With the rest of the system off, the Esoteric's screen blinks constantly with 'Opt' on the display screen. I guess it is searching for a signal. Will this mess up or burn in the LED display?
I am considering getting a cheap (relative) little DAC just for the XBox as an alternative. Considering things like Cambridge DacMagic 100. Ideas?
Thanks,
Jason
