anyone ever moddify a PROCEED AVP?

Im waiting on one and it works supposedly but I was reading and I see where the parts for the LED have all but dried up. I found some on ebay and bought the last 2 but it  takes 3 to complete the display

I did notice similar part #s for the similar parts but the color was red ..I was wondering if it could be used. the display changed from yellow to red.

just a thought.

I know its old and not up to date in the home theater age but I didnt buy it for home  theater. I bought it for the stereo sound. I had the original pre from proceed. made my sony es sound like new animal.

I know I liked the other proceed I had better than the classe ssp-30 I had and the B&K ref 30/50 and some others I cant recall at the moment.
The Proceed components exuded quality, both inside and out. Sleek and beautiful. Very solid and weighty. I can see both of you being satisfied with the AVP as an analog preamp indefinitely.

Dlcockrum, I suppose I should rephrase that to second to none in its price range back in the 90s. Your point is right on.
I had that Proceed years ago and it is indeed a very good 2-channel analog preamp. Second to none is quite a stretch.

Dave
Don't know about the LEDS but the analog section of the Proceed is second to none. Using the Proceed PAV myself for stereo listening only and loving it.
