Are audiophile speakers turn on for single women?

I recently purchased a pair of speakers that I showed to a non-audiophile female friend of mine. She said they looked beautiful and asked how much they cost. When I told her, her jaw dropped. She then asked if I was using them to pick up hot chicks. Hmm...I told her the only people who get turned on by my audiophile speakers are balding middle-aged men. She had a laugh, but I wondered if anyone tried to impress a girl with his stereo system. High end is a male dominated hobby like sports cars. So have you found a woman who was turned on by your system. I have had no such look. I just get blank stares when I talk about my hobby to women.

Classy guy with a boom box is a contradiction in terms.
Krell/Wilson don't look or sound too bad - there might be a chance. 6 digits..you meant 5 plus 1 ?
Another 45 divorced guy of 5 years. Whenever woman come over they are more impressed by the B&O system than my dedicated audiophile system. I am always asked, "You still listen to records"! True!!
My cat was a better filter then the Stereo.

If the lady and cat got along, it was a very good sign.

If the lady liked my cooking.....BBQ, home made bread and a trip out later for desert, that was also a good sign.
Nothing worse than a woman who picks at her food and tries to stare a cat down. Near-automatic disqualifier.

As for the guy with the boombox? Do people with megabuck stereos SERIOUSLY think that makes them classy? My spouse works at a very hi-end resort / spa which has far more than its share of rich jerks. People that need someone to tell them the time......or tell them what the weather is like....when the door is 30 feet away. So much for rich and classy.
Listening to records! A suspicious 'fringe' activity. As for the B&O, it is terrific eye candy, more akin to art for the eye and ear. But not for the serious lunatics that post here!
They might...if they know you have Diamond tweeters.

Sorry Elizabeth...I couldn't help myself. :-)
