AudioEngine B-Fi using Android and DNLA to bypass the Control app
Hello.
I'm intrigued by this streamer. I would like to replace my aging Airport Express and this sounds like the ticket.
It claims you can use the device to stream from audio sources outside of the Audioengine Control app. I have no doubt this is easy to do if on an Apple device (using Airplay) but I'm an Android user and would like to occasionally pump some YouTube audio to my stereo.
AudioEngine claims you can do this whether on an Apple or Android device. I am skeptical because all pro reviews of this gizmo were using Apple as their source. So can it be done? Sure I'd probably stay within the Control app for 90% of my listening, but there's some great studio sessions I like to listen to off Youtube.
Please someone give me some good news before I buy. Thanks!
