Beosound 5 into a DAC??

I was wondering if anyone was using a B&O Beosound 5 as a user interface into a DAC, and how does that sound? I know B&O sometimes gets a bad rap for mediocre sounds, despite high design, but if it's just bits and it's feeding a good converter... anyway, it can be run through an SPDIF and it looks like a relatively simple, easy to use piece of kit. Anyone have any experience with it?
