A below the radar kit that will stun you as much as it stunned me enough to buy them for my B system

Look into the Fritz Carbon 7.

I concur with some of the respondents here, there is NO absolute best when it comes to what are the best Speakers for $2K. There are too many factors and variables to consider.

But if it were up to me, I will opt for Vandersteen 2C's, 2Ce's or 2Ce Signatures (anything made in 1993 or later).

Afterwards, I would start shopping for a used Bryston BP-20/BR-25 Preamplifier along with a matching Bryston 3B Power Amplifier to drive my Vandies afterwards.
