Connect them both ways and then do a listening test to see which sound you prefer more. Run with the sound you like best. There is no right or wrong way in this regard, it's all subjective to your listening tastes.
best way to go rca analouge or optical
i just picked up a second system for the den a sony DA90es reciever with a sony 229es cd player the cd player has rca outputs as well as optical should i use the optical out to the reciever or rca analouge outputs i belive the reciever has 32 bit not sure if the dac in the cd drive is better than the reciever one my plan was to run the 229es as a tranport but my dac has no optical in just composite so thats out
