Biamping with a pair of 2 ch amps....

I would like to try biamping my Vandy 2C's...I have a pair of identical NAD 2200s to work with...the vandies are biamp capable by removing the external jumpers...seems I have two possibilities for hook-up: 1)use one amp per speaker or 2)use one amp for L/R lows and one for L/R highs...my thought is option 2 is preferrable as it gives the left and right channel of each amp approximately equal duties...what does conventional wisdom say???

You can try both ways...one may sound better. Conventional wisdom says vertical bi-amp...#1

I used a pair of Hafler DH-220's in "Option 2" configuration for a couple of years. I preferred the sound to "Option 1" but I've since changed to a single DH-500 and prefer the single high power amp sound.
