Bob Carver Integrated Amp

Mono & Stereo had a piece on their website about Bob Carver coming out with a new integrated amp in a few months.  Sounds good.

They have to put the fire out first because Carver/Surefire/Flame Linear products are known for sudden "combustion" if you don't believe check with you're insurance carrier!
I own the Carver 350 mono amps. They are very good, but touching the tubes will burn your fingers. So much for that BS.

Just let them warm up a bit more and you'll be able to grill you're American hamburgers on they're open flames but don't let the drapes catch fire!
Right. Tubes are after all glowing red hot metal surrounded by glass.

If you touch one and get burned, well its kind of like the Burger King song. You know the one sung to the tune of The Carol of the Bells. Ding fries are done, ding fries are done. I work at Burger King making flame broiled Whoppers I wear paper hat. Would you like an apple pie with that? Would you like an apple pie with that? Ding fries are done, ding fries are done. Don't put your hand in hot oil really hurts bad so do skin grafts. Would you like an apple pie with that? etc

I have these amps. It gets very warm, but I can touch the tubes without getting burned. I saw Bob Carver show this by putting his palm on the output tubes and holding them there for good number of seconds and not flinching at all.

As for the 'listening to the room' claim, the feature is always on, so I am not able to compare with and without that feature to evaluate any sonic difference.
