You should ask Brinkmann or try to download a copy of the owners manual. It is certainly not conventional for the platter to need a push start, but some turntable makers, e.g., Nottingham, do openly state that the platter needs to be pushed. Nottingham tt's deliberately use a very weak motor. If that's the case for Brinkmann, they probably do not keep it a secret.
Brinkmann Lagrange question.
Hi guys, I just put together my Brinkmann Lagrange and I had some issues with the motor. There was a lot of friction on that bearing so it wouldn't turn when powering on despite the motors LEDs switching correctly. Anyway, I have solved that with some small adjustment. But I have an issue... The motor will not start the platter from stop. If I give their platter a nudge by hand it will pick up speed and is then speed stable. Is this normal ?? Or should I expect it to start ok from stop ?? It's a second hand turn table and I don't have experience with them. Thanks all.
