Brinkmann Lagrange question.

Hi guys, I just put together my Brinkmann Lagrange and I had some issues with the motor. There was a lot of friction on that bearing so it wouldn't turn when powering on despite the motors LEDs switching correctly. Anyway, I have solved that with some small adjustment. But I have an issue... The motor will not start the platter from stop. If I give their platter a nudge by hand it will pick up speed and is then speed stable. Is this normal ?? Or should I expect it to start ok from stop ?? It's a second hand turn table and I don't have experience with them. Thanks all.

You should ask Brinkmann or try to download a copy of the owners manual. It is certainly not conventional for the platter to need a push start, but some turntable makers, e.g., Nottingham, do openly state that the platter needs to be pushed. Nottingham tt's deliberately use a very weak motor. If that's the case for Brinkmann, they probably do not keep it a secret.
Hi lewm, thanks for the advice. I am now in conversation and troubleshooting with Helmut Brinkmann, who is super helpful. Working through things and Hope to have a solution very soon. Just for info, the motor is designed to have enough torque to start the platter from stop. There is an issue, but I'm sure we can sort it out.
