Cartridge mounting

A local dealer has mounted a Grado Red cartridge on my Thorens table with Rega RB303 tonearm but mounted it with the screws upside down.  I assume it's much easier to do it this way, but aesthetically I don't like the way it looks.  Is it unreasonable to expect with a Rega tonearm that the screws go the other way around?  Thanks for your comments.

The dealer told me that this is the better way of mounting the cartridge with the screws upside down

Better or easier is the question here I think.  How could there possible be any difference sonically whether the screws go one way or another???  Better, because it's easier and probably faster to do it that way and less chance of messing it up, I'd bet......but we never got into that, instead our conversation turned into a yelling match because this was not the original cartridge that I asked him to put on for me.
If it bothers you so much then why don’t you do it? It sure ain't brain surgery!

As is the case with all adjustments:'' it depends''. In this case it

depends from the headshell ''screws accomodation'' and carts

screw holes construction. BTW AT headshells have screw threads

at the under side. So in your terminology in those headshells all

carts must be fastened ''upside down''. There is no ''up'' and ''down''

in absolute sense. Those are our ''mental orientation'' words . But

language and reality are different things.

If you want to get vinyl right you need to learn how to do it right yourself .

Absolutely, if I can do it you can.  Hard to have to be dependent on someone for a relatively easy job.
