Cieling speakers right choice with my setup

Adding 6 vintage pcm icr-260 cieling speakers to my home surround sound mix along with 2 pioneer 12 in CS 85000 subs and polk audio backs center and surround, powered by Harmon/kardon av 140 reciever. It's all older equipment but my question is will the cieling speakers make already a rockin system better or should I focus my attention in a different direction

If you’re set on ceiling speakers you HAVE to put angled tweets if you desire any meaningful surround experience.

It is tough to get ceiling speakers to behave like normal speakers in a surround system.  Wonderful as the final speakers in an Atmos system, but those are in addition to typical surrounds that are on the wall.  

If you are moving to Atmos it makes a ton of sense.  If not in Atmos, I would probably look at other options to boost performance.
