Clearaudio Satisfy Tonearm IC Upgrade

Has anyone ever upgraded the stock direct wire interconnects that come on Clearaudio Satisfy tonearms?
I know this tonearm has the option of standard RCA outputs but mine was an OEM version where I did not have this option. I believe that the IC on it is a very good one, but want to experiment with some more exotic cables. Is this advised or am I an idiot? No need to answer the latter, I think I already know. ;-)
