Coax Digital compared to seperate 5.1 for movies.

When watching movies I run a Synergistic Resolution Reference X2 Active Digital Coax for 5.1 channel movies. What would be the difference if I ran 5 seperate channel RCA's and .1channel for LFE?? Would I get better channel seperation, resolution, detail etc... Also for stereo music would I benefit with a left/right RCA???

I would definitely recommend the digital connection for several reasons. First, the analog inputs on the Integra/Onkyo prepros are their weakest features. Second, the use of analog interconnections eliminates the ability to use any of the DSP features of the 885 including bass management and room EQ. Not a difficult choice.

Some dvd players and some dvd's have a 2ch 24/96 option
So as you see it is sometimes a menu option on the disc. Players differ, /discs differ. Back when I had the Pioneer Elite '09; that player had a 2ch output as well as a 5.1-both on coax. I always listened to Hell Freezes Over in 2ch.--A coax going to my Theta 2ch dac.

What about for music 2 channel????
Number of channels is irrelevant. It's the hardware and processing.

It's understanded about hardware, but when listening to 2 channel music(I don't like multi), Is the coax technically better than seperate stereo RCA's or XLR's??? Has anyone heard a difference???
