Could someone with a Garrard 401 Measure for me...

... the distance from the top of the chassis to the top of the platter? I need to figure out if my arm needs a raised or a chassis-level armboard.

You have time for this kind of post? Did you not take a moment to think that maybe the plinth is being built and I don't actually the 401 with me?

dover Details Discussions Posts This discussion Message User 2,250 posts 09-02-2022 at 12:35pm Copy Comment URL Report Comment Edit Delete @dhcod I have fitted multiple arms - Helius, Moerch, Kuzma, SME on a 401 with the arm mounted directly on the plinth onto which the 401 is bolted - no problems. In other words the arm is mounted at the same level as the bottom of the 401 chassis.

The arm I have is a Schroder and he recommends a specific distance range as being ideal so now I've ordered an extra piece with my plinth to raise the armboard a bit!
