DAC’s

Hello, curious on everyone’s thoughts. I’m still building my system. I came across a really good deal on a Meitner MA3 dac. It’s from an authorized dealer and they offered to sell me one NIB for 7k. I have read and read about dacs and I am getting tired. Haha. I really like the Denafrips Terminator 2, Holo and the lumin T3 being the cheapest of them all. Once I factor in a streamer I am already close or over the 7k. Also I don’t need a dac for anything other then just streaming. Thank you

i think some of the posters, including me, were a little mystified how you said that your system ran roon, and yet you didn’t need a roon core...

now we understand... you have the zen mini and zenith, either of which can serve as the core machine... 👍

So, to answer the question- Do I need a Roon Core?

From my experience, no.

@lpretiring will get the R26 Monday but burn-in will take a week, I will let you know in this thread when ready to comment. BTW I had and sold a 2020 Terminator II so I have had an R2R before but sold it to get the Lampi and now I don't want to spend more than the R26 to have the R2R sound again - but I will sell the R26 if it isn't at least as good as the Termi II, though right now I don't have clue which other R2R I'd go for...
