difference between Kappa Emit series I and series II

I blew all four Emits in my VMPS RM2 loudspeakers a while back.  All else seems to be in good order and I've been looking to replace those tweeters but find it difficult to locate the series II Kappa Emits.  I see lots of Kappa Emit-R.  What is/are the difference(s) between the 2 versions?  Any reason not to install 4 of the Emit-R tweeters instead?  Thanks.

I would check the amp, there is no way you blow 4 tweeters, and not have an oscillation problem, with the amp. Second the series I RM2s you have to be careful with. They will blow the mids too, because of the low crossover point, 166 hz I think.. That was changed to 250 then 280 hz.

The EMITs is all about the ohm, there were all kinds of those things made.. Round, flat, all ribbons, but all over the map with, production...

The dual tweeter set up was changed to the AC GS2 (FST). Log on the the VMPS for sale site, A lot of good guys that may help.. The parts are getting harder to find... James Romney (SP), Stimpy, and John Casler, all nice folks and a LOT of the old VMPS Dealers, repairman, and owners...

Not so - none of the EMIT tweeters were ribbons. They are planar magnetic drivers.
I stand corrected, they are planars.. Again ohms is the trick, match the tweeters.  I thought I might have a few of the round ones here.  No luck
I have the Square, 4.5 ohm, There were at least 3 different types of those things.  He has the round ones different again.  There are at least two of those.. I have RM2s I with the AC (FST) upgrades. They had those buttons.  The XO is upgraded too.

My concern is all 4 blew not weather they were planars or ribbons.
That model of RM2 you have to be a little careful, They will self destruct if you're not careful. They sound great until they don't...

Happy hunting
