Different versions of MBL 101E??

In looking into a used pair of these speakers- there seems to be a slight cosmetic difference between some of them- Some have 2 lines etched across the bass unit and some are solid- Does anyone know the difference and is there a sound difference between any of the 101e's any upgrades over time??- thanks,gary
