Does Sony DVP-S9000ES Feeds Digital Out For CD?

I currently have a SACD1000 which doesnt feed digital out when I play regular CDs. Does the Sony DVP-S9000ES feeds digital out when playing regular CD? Which unit sounds better on redbook, DVP-S9000ES or SACD1000?
