Madisound all the way. Built mine from their parts 30 years ago. But look at the kits from Parts X for simple.

What about GR? Danny and the guy/girls that support GR are really good folks. Forum support on every phase right up to paint or veneers. https://www.gr-research.com/ Regards |
Madisound are excellent people to work with. If you are looking for Sonus Fabre type sound, I would recommend the Seas Crescendo line of woofers and tweeters. They are very good resolution but have a slightly soft presentation, almost tube like. Here are recordings of speakers I built using both Seas Crescendo and the Seas Excel Magnesium woofers. Both use the crescendo tweeter. https://m.youtube.com/user/auxinput96/videos The Seas Bitfrost kit is a good choice if you are looking for bookshelves. But Madisound will design a crossover for you on any of there components. I do do not recommend Scanspeak because they are just too r veiling, like a Wilson speaker. Not like Sonus Fabre at all. |
