Ether Regen and mesh? Yes!

I drank the Ether Regen Kool-aid last summer and installed it just before the streamer (n200) as directed. It did nothing. That’s a preamble. I don’t doubt the many who swear by it.

After patiently waiting many, many hours without results, I thought maybe it’s time to recoup some cash. But first (enlightened!), I tried the Regen between the cable modem and Orbi router. Dumbfounded.

No joke, my web based tv service is Stunning. Netflix, Prime and others are off the chart excellent.

It shamed my (direct from modem) hard wired connection. Upstairs tv is now off wire and on wifi.

As for the streamer it’s wired to a mesh satellite. Nothing stunning there, but a new feeling of ease that lets me enjoy the music and not think about the gear. Good enough for me.

@wlutke Have you yet tried a very good linear power supply and aftermarket power cable on the EtherRegen? If not, and you have a spare one, it is worth trying. I found that adding a very high quality power cable that cost more than the EtherRegen made a more significant difference in the signal than just the EtherRegen by itself. But in that case, there are other switches with better power supplies at higher price tiers

I do appreciate your findings on its effect on video!

The one caveat with wifi is the Regen 100M download speed, plus I saw a 10% upload penalty.  It doesn't affect me but online gamers would want to hard wire straight off the modem.

I'll be content for now, no such luck with spares.

Thanks for the suggestion!
