Has anyone here had any dealings with Tekton, particularly their subwoofers

As I explore options for replacing equipment I am it seems constantly finding new sources of components to consider. Tekton has appeared on my radar due to another thread here at audiogon. I just wondered if anyone has gone this direction for subwoofers in particular, but I also have questions about their full range speakers and what they are like to deal with. Given that the world of hi-fi has become even more of a smoke and mirrors game than it has been in the past, I am more cautious about who I am willing to throw down money for than I ever have been.

I guess this might be something to consider…

I’d say its a toss up between that laughable Tekton speaker pictured above and the supreme joke of Tralfamador...actually I think the real prize should go to complete system composed of Mac separates with Tektons as the main left and right with Tralfamadors as the surrounds with a phantom center. Anyone support that notion? And now for the real question: Who among you could walk into a room filled with a system like I just described without laughing out loud?

I own(ed) a pair of Tektons, but not their subwoofers.

Decent speakers, some people swear by them. Great bang for your buck. It’s nice that you can get them customized and in any finish you want. Most people who $hit on them usually haven’t even heard them, so bear that in mind. Disparaging a company just seems to be some people’s MO....

I never had any issues dealing with Tekton, they were responsive and timely, so I’d say good customer service. You can either call them, but I found email was the way to go.

I got rid of my Tektons simply because I outgrew them, sonically. I had upgraded my amplification, preamplification, sources, etc....and they just weren’t giving me the sound I was looking for, so I let my son-in-law "borrow" them (probably permanently). He loves them.

Hope that helps.

Call Erik on Saturday morning, He will explain to you whatever your questions. I have Tekton speakers. I like them. I don’t have his subwoofer.

Since they are a manufacturer direct company (no dealer in the middle, adding another 50%, 60%, etc to the price tag), their speakers and subs can represent great value.

I had a pair of double impacts inside a larger office room for a while in my former house. I still have their 4-10 subwoofers, currently in storage due to lack of space. It is an excellent subwoofer for music and all other applications.

Echoing another comment above, their customer service is good.

Disregard the morons that disparage Tekton speakers.  They have rarely heard them, look at a pic, and rant on about their cosmetics.  Well we all can see what they look like so save your worthless commentary.

Here are the facts.  Add up the cost of the speaker components and show me one speaker brand that offers more for your dollar.  Much more than that, focus on the sound quality that you will get.  It is excellent in almost every parameter IMO.

It would help to know more details on your system to offer helpful input.  I own the Double Impacts and the Electon SE's.  Many would never need subwoofers with either but this will hinge on the  specifics of your system.

Eric of Tekton is a polarizing individual. I have always found him helpful.  He is a very driven designer.  He is also very talented at what he does.
