Has anyone here had any dealings with Tekton, particularly their subwoofers

As I explore options for replacing equipment I am it seems constantly finding new sources of components to consider. Tekton has appeared on my radar due to another thread here at audiogon. I just wondered if anyone has gone this direction for subwoofers in particular, but I also have questions about their full range speakers and what they are like to deal with. Given that the world of hi-fi has become even more of a smoke and mirrors game than it has been in the past, I am more cautious about who I am willing to throw down money for than I ever have been.

If anyone is interested, here is the uncut version:

You don’t need to read many of the 137 pages to realize that, as is most often the case with real life, things are not 100% black and white.

@devinplombier

You are the guy assigned to this fourm for ASR defense, huh? Ok, EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THIS TECHNICS DIDN’T MAKE THE CUT

AND WHY THIS REVEL MADE THE CUT (golfing panther n all)

P.S. Whichever ASR dude reports this comment as violating some forum rule (Don’t i know how you operate)...., no worries, i’ll get a hold of the admin and bring it back this time, i promise.

You’re asking me? Ask ASR, they wrote the tests.

Me, I’m against removing comments (not 100% sure you’re accusing me of it, but it sure sounds like it).

You write what you write because you think it’s valuable or righteous or smart or clever, and it deserves to be kept in public view for all to make up their own minds on the matter. If your prose gets binned, it’s not on me.

This has devolved a bit for the OP.  Classic ASR vs Tekton owners thread.  The truth is somewhere in the middle.  I don't find Amir to be the most unbiased person, so his comments I take with a grain of salt.  He trashed the Sony SSCS5 speakers that sell for $77 regularly, yet have a flatter response than many speakers costing much more.  Sure it hits distortion fast with some SPL pushed, but it's a $77 speaker.

Point being, OP, I wouldn't judge either side because of a personal disagreement among two seemingly opinionated and type A people.  At the end of the day trust your gut.  For subwoofers, rhythmik seems like the king unless you want to take a chance on the tektons. They may be a bigger bang for the buck but return shipping is not cheap if you don't like them.  Best of luck to you!

Tekton has horribly toxic ownership. Don't even care if I liked their speakers or not, Eric and his trash heap are dead to me.
