I don't have any experience with the Herron VTPH-2 so I can't comment on its noise level, but I have a Bent TVC. My phono stage has the same output impedance as your Herron (500 ohms). I haven't had any problems. Actually, quite the opposite. It sounds wonderful. As long as your ICs are relatively low capacitance you should be fine.
