The Behringer UCA 202 may well be the best cheap analogue to digital converter (optical out). However, for the same outlay I would suggest investing in a Chromecast Audio (using its optical output into the Oppo) for internet radio. Internet radio at lower bit rates is not perfect, but neither is FM. On balance, I think the point has now been reached where the defects of internet radio are mostly considerably smaller than the sonic shortcomings of FM. Moreover, just imagine the wealth of stations you can receive with internet radio. |
