Just bought a NAD C700

Not sure if this is normal, but when playing music from my thumb drive, and the setting is set to "Front View" Album, Text and VU" I see this black area cutting through the White VU bar at the bottom. It appears to be inconsistent with all the other data presented. see photo below. Any suggestions, or is this normal?
