LoJack for audio equipment?

I recently saw an ad for Lojack for laptops. Looked it up and found the service starts at around $40 per year. If LoJack were available for home audio equipment, at around the same cost, would you be one to use the service? Homeowners insurance is not cheap, and I think most insurers would drop the price if the service was being utilized.

But then you have to take into account the recovery of the items. What condition are they in? Banged around? Not quite the same as they were. Not worth what they were before the theft. What will the insurance company do then? May be better off just letting them go, and paying the high homeowners insurance.

Now if the thieves had plenty of time to clean you out, cd's, lp's, jewelery, etc., etc., if you had LoJack, there would be a possibility of getting all of your lp's recovered......

No need for a lojack, you can buy an Apple tracker (there are other cheaper alternatives out there). I have one in my car and another inside one of my guitars. I never thought about puting it in any of my stereo equiptment. l'm not that worried, by the time they undo all the cables, or try and pick up my subwoofer, they'd just give up.....

But no burglar is going to take LPs; they would steal the cat food first.

Only if it were a cat burglar.
