LUXMAN 505u?

At least you still have a tube amp. I very much wanted to move back to solid state and so far my ears haven't allowed it. Next up is a Hegel H200. I've already come to the conclusion that I can't ever sell the tubes

I have had the 505u since 2009.It was purchased new from a dealer in Japan.This so called grey market amp has given me nothing but great entertainment.Saved a ton of money and paid zero import fees.If have recently acquired the service manual and changed it over to 120 VAC.Quite a simple job actually.The 505u's from Japan are multi-voltage.
I do remember reading somewhere where an individual had claimed that the Japanese models had hand wound transformers and were 100 VAC only.Anyway,if someone out there wants to change their amps input voltage,let me know.

At the Japanese prices, you should get a 507 at least. :)

At the time,all i could afford was a 505u.

Has anyone gotten a 507 from Japan recently? If so any recommendations? Are their models still able to change the voltage for the US? I would worry that a transformer might impact SQ. Any advice?
