Hello, In terms of sound and resale which system would you choose 1 to 5 year old electronics and 35 to 45 year old speakers or vise versa? Resale could be each component of the system or system as a whole. Assuming everything is very good quality and condition.
I can probably find adequate 35-45 amplification, but speaker design has come so far, that nothing 35-45 years old is going to keep up with something modern that is good.
Any 35-45 yr old audio component is very likely need some work, e.g. capacitors, foam surrounds, etc. etc. etc. This is a false dichotomy in my opinion.
