New Tweak --- Its Fantastic

THE NEW TWEAK

Over the good part of this past year I’ve been beta testing a new tweak, the name of which is "Total Contact." Its a hi-bred graphene contact enhancer that is different from all other contact enhancers that have come and gone for one reason or another. I’m not new to these contact enhancers, having had quite a bit of experience with a product developed by the late Brian Kyle and his "Quick Silver" contact enhancer. The "Total Contact" is different ... a LOT different.

"Total Contact" is graphene based and is not a vibration control. It eliminates micro-arching between two contacts. Micro-arching, much like Micro-vibration smears the sound in our stereo systems. Its the type of distortion that we don’t know is there .... until we eliminate it. There is no break-in as we know it. The sound is improved right off the bat, but what you hear is only a smidgen of what’s to come.

I tested three generations of "TC," each of which was an improvement over the previous incarnation. The final mix was cryogenitically treated and made for a more effective, much smoother application. It comes in a large hypodermic needle type plunger containing 1.5 ml of product and includes a instructional DVD and an application brush.

The application should be applied with a very thin coat to all of your electrical connections .... from your cartridge pins to your power cords. I did my entire system, including the ends of my fuses.

Upon initial application, you will notice an improvement in clarity, correctness of tonal balance and a more overall organic sound. But ... that is just scratching the surface of what this magic paste does. As it cures, the improvements become more apparent. Much more!

There are two real break-through events that happen almost to the day with "Total Contact," one at four weeks and another at eight weeks . At four weeks, you’ll get a real jump in clarity and overall improvement. That’s only a taste though of what’s to come at eight weeks. At eight weeks your system’s focus will make a jump in SQ that is so real - its surreal.

After 40 years in the hobby, and a total tweak nut, I have never heard anything that does what this graphene paste does. The see-through clarity at eight weeks becomes simply amazing. The "paste" eventually cures into a kind of polymer plastic and it seems that the sound improves with each listening session. So, its important that you leave your contacts alone for the duration. If you’re the type of person that continually switches wires in and out, you’ll have to re paste until enough time has elapsed to get "the cure."

The only problem I had was with the first batch and that had to do with shorting out a tube pin in the line stage. Use the "TC" very sparingly on tube pins, if at all. I only had problems with the line stage tube pins. The Amp, CD Player and Phono Stage has had no tube pin problems at all.

Tim Mrock, one of our fellow A’goners, is the developer of the product. Its taken Tim 15 years and several patents to get it right. Tim has "pasted" every electrical contact he can find in his audio system, all of the switches in his circuit breaker box, every contact in his car ... and has used it in commercial applications such as hospital circuit breakers, surgical lights ... and other places where efficiency and long life of electrical components are deemed important.

This product is highly recommended to anyone who truly wants to get the most out of his/her audio systems. There’s enough product in each tube to do at least two audio systems as it just takes a very thin coat on each application to be effective. The last tube was enough to do my system twice and then a friend’s system this past weekend.

PS: There were a couple of other A’goner beta testers of this product as well. Hopefully, they will chime in here with their experiences for comparison. I "pasted" both of Steve Fleschler’s systems a few days ago, perhaps he will comment on his results too. We forgot to paste Steve’s power cords though, so there’s a lot more to be had from Steve’s two fantastic systems.

I am interested in this product but will probably hold off until I hear from some of the others who have tried it.
please can we just move on and maybe talk about the actual product?  I would like to hear some more user reviews
I just placed my order for total contact.  Can't wait to try it and I will report back with my results.
HI,  I just wanted to weigh in on my experience with total contact.  I pasted about 3/4 of my system with total contact about 4 days ago.  I just would like to say that this is one of the best tweaks I have ever tried.  Total contact has lifted a veil from the music and opened up the soundstage like I could never have imagined.  The bass has increased  tremendously and the system is smoother and more focused then ever before,  little details in the music are more present then ever before.  I am shocked at the impact that total contact has made,  very happy with the product would be an understatement.  Also I have talked with Tim on the phone a couple of times and he could not be more pleasant to speak with.
I am really not sure how my system could get much better,  but I guess I will find out in about 3 and a half weeks.  When you guys paste a digital cable or an hdmi cable that has several pins,  are you using the brush or are you using a tooth pick?
I couldn't believe how good my system sounded last night.  Like I said before this is one of the best tweaks I have ever tried.  I would say that it made more of an impact than my new amp made.  If you are on the fence about trying total contact I would say do it, you will not believe what your system is capable of.  I have 3 weeks until the 4 week period.
I'm coming up on the 2 week period with my system and I am noticing that the system gets better with each listening session.  What is most impressive is the deep tuneful bass that I am getting.  I have yet to treat my subwoofer cables but will do that in the next couple days.  I haven't even needed  the sub really.  Also the spaciousness of the soundstage is excellent.  Having fun enjoying the ride.
I just hit the 8 week mark yesterday.  I sat down and listened to some of my favorite music and it was just awesome.  It had been about a week since my last chance to listen but everything did seem even better.             One thing I have gradually noticed is that the bass not only gets deeper, but the detail in the bass is amazing.  Hotel California has some deep detailed bass that I was never really hearing before I applied tc.         Soundstage is greatly improved and the new background details were giving me goose bumps.  It was really emotional that my system was sounding this good.  And to think I almost gave up on my speakers and now they sound just unreal.                                                                             The musical presentation is more powerful, producing more meat on the bones,  There is a more focus and the sound is just much more clean now then ever before.                                                                                     Needless to say I am very happy with my purchase of tc
one thing I think I will never have is last tweak syndrome.  I have not, however purchased anything new tweaks since I got my tc.  I am in no hurry but I will never say never
I am going to treat my subwoofer connections this weekend.  I have not used it since I treated the rest of the system,  haven't really needed it but now I am missing it a little bit.  I will update when it is treated
Just a little update on my system.  The total contact gets better and better as it cures.  Not only has the bass impact increased but the detail in the bass is amazing.  I also have noticed soundstage has become a little bigger since my last update.  Focus continues to improve and it is more organic and analog sounding.  Really to sum it up this tweek is worth every cent.
I have a couple more things I want to treat with tc.  First I recall Frank saying that if you paint the interconnect barrels with tc it will bring an improvement.  I am assuming that the barrel is the outside part that the interconnect?  Also would like to apply tc to my 6922 tubes.  I think I read that I should just apply to the very end of the pins?  Thanks
Hi Frank, sorry for the confusion.  So you are saying that someone pasted the glass also?
