Nikko NR-1219 "the beast" receiver

I just acquired a 1980 vintage Nikko receiver. I've read this was Nikko's best effort for receivers. A friend tweaked the tuner, confirmed all the caps in the power supply section are still to spec, and cleaned/lubed the controls. I'll be using this beast in a secondary system. Obviously not high end here but plenty good for its intended use. This receiver retailed for $1,200 new but did not get the same attention as the high power offerings from Pioneer, Kenwood, Marantz.... so forth. I'm guessing here but I think production volume is fairly low. I figure for $100 it's a good gamble. Any one have any experience with receiver?
