potting v15 type 4

just fired up my v 15 type 4 with a new Ed saunders stylus .Also put in new ortofon leads.Took out my grado to try again.wow after a few adjustments on my lp 12 I'm wondering if potting would make a significant difference or not.Just courious.RW
